Who is Nor Environmental ?

Nor Environmental located in North Bay, Ontario, Canada is a manufacturing and service company specializing in Radiation Safety and Special Hazards.

Nor Environmental is deeply involved with issues and technologies in Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defence (NBCD) and Disaster Response equipment manufacturing, Defence Related Research and Development as well as Low Level Radioactive Waste (LLRW) Disposal in Northern Ontario .

Manufacturing:

Nor Environmental has developed working relationships with some of the finest Research entities in the country to assist us in developing the most efficient, cost effective NBCD equipment on the market today.

Nor Environmental designs and manufactures Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical Defense (NBCD) and Disaster Response equipment for both military needs and civilian agencies to enhance the efficiency of dealing with NBC hazards and conditions nationally and internationally.

Research and Development

We have developed equipment and procedures that enhance defensive capabilities while taking into account cost effectiveness, training simplification, and manpower.(Research and Development)

Special Hazards:

We have brought together the most qualified and experienced NBCD instructors (both English and French), capable of thorough briefings as well as the most capable consultation and hands-on training.

Many CEOs’ have seen that in these changing and uncertain times their representatives may need special training and or equipment due to the potential for local and regional crisis where a head office, for whatever reason, cannot effectively withdraw their people from harms way in an expedient manner.

Many agencies and companies now recognize their responsibility for employee safety both domestically and abroad in relation to terrorist use of weapons of mass destruction.

In many regions a crisis may erupt overnight, delaying intervention from either company head office or national agencies.

Nor Environmental has developed special training programs and consultation related to national agencies (Disaster Response and Government Agencies) and international industries with staff abroad.(Special Hazards)

The Company:

The business was founded in 1993 by its CEO Mr. Louis B. Brown. Originally the company envisioned dealing with solutions within Northern and Central Ontario to environmental and industrial radiation safety problems ( within the Cambrian Shield, for years many of these problems have not been dealt with in a cost effective or ecologically sound manner).

Nor Environmental is an environmentally responsible company working within a newly recognized area of expertise (in Canada). Our Radiation Safety Staff adhere to American Association of Radon Scientists and Technologists (AARST), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and Atomic Energy Control Board (AECB) protocols and standards for the detection, evaluation, handling, and laboratory analysis of Radioactive material (natural and industrial).

Nor Environmental offers a number of Radiation Safety Services, from Radon Testing to Site Decontamination as well as being deeply involved in the effort to find a safe and effective Low Level Radioactive Waste Disposal (LLRW) Site within Northern Ontario.

Our LOGO:

Nor Environmental's Logo incorporates; The province of Ontario, Canada where much of our Radiation Safety work is accomplished. This is embedded behind a stylized City Gates of North Bay, "The Gate Way To The North", which is the crossroads of road , rail, and air for everything travelling east or west. Inserted into the centre of the gates is the Atom reflecting the company aim of Radiation Safety in Ontario. The Scroll at the bottom of the gates has the company motto "Knowledge Dispels Fear". One of our main aims is to educate our customer.

Management:

Mr. Louis Brown founded Nor Environmental in North Bay “The Gate Way To The North” after an active and successful career (twenty Years) with the Canadian Air Force in the Aerospace Defense and the Nuclear, Biological, and Chemical (NBC) Warfare and Defense fields. He is also a qualified Radiation Safety Specialist.

Industrial Radiation Safety:

Nor Environmental’s Radiation Safety Specialists will assist companies in meeting or maintaining AECB standards for Radiation Source Licenses, transportation of Radioactive Sources, consultations, and remediation of problem areas.

Radon:

Until recently Radon and its effects on the human body have been under emphasized as a concern in Canada and as a health related environmental hazard with major health and health related cost ramifications.

Studies confirming the EPA's concerns of the early 80's were recently released to the public and a new awareness of this problem has emerged.

Nor Environmental offers residential and industrial services to the public. This allows a home owner to take advantage of the latest technology and studies of Radon and its effects on the human body. Nor Environmental provides environmental security at affordable rates.
